Set in the early years of the Republic of China, Back for You tells the suspenseful and romantic story of A Lai, a dedicated police officer working in a foreign concession. When A Lai becomes the target of a ruthless gang, his life is saved by a mysterious woman, Lu Na, who appears seemingly out of nowhere. Severely injured, Lu Na falls into a coma, leaving A Lai desperate to uncover her identity—yet no trace of her can be found.
Holding onto twelve comic books that Lu Na carries, A Lai begins reading them to awaken her. To his surprise, every story in the comics mirrors the cases he handles, offering hidden clues that guide him in solving his investigations. As he becomes more entangled in both the mysteries and Lu Na’s secret, he earns recognition for his work, but also makes powerful enemies.
Through the comic book stories, A Lai slowly discovers Lu Na’s secret. When one of the comics is read aloud, Lu Na awakens, and a romantic bond forms between the two. Together, they confront A Lai’s enemies, restore peace, and rediscover his original dedication and purpose as a police officer.
