Synopsis

Turbulence rises once again as the Patriarch of Blood River, the most powerful assassin organization in the martial world, nears death after being poisoned. Once jointly founded by the Su, Mu, and Xie clans, Blood River now faces internal strife as the clans turn against each other in a fierce struggle for power. Su Mu Yu (Gong Jun), who serves directly under the Patriarch, is inevitably drawn into the succession conflict. When tasked to seek help from the mysterious healer Bai He Huai (Yang Yu Tong), Mu Yu must race against time and rival assassins to find the elusive cure. Along his way, he encounters formidable foes and friends – both old and new. But, in a realm full of chaos, who can Mu Yu really trust? This drama was based on the novel Tales of Dark River by Zhou Mu Nan.
